Do You Want to See...Plan w/ me Posts?

Hello Friends,

How are you all doing? So today I sat down and planned in my planner for my vacation week, which begins in less than a week. I have been obsessed with planning every since I have seen so many Youtubers sharing "plan with me" videos. I never knew that planning could be so freaking fun! You can literally turn your boring old "I'm too busy to use the bathroom" planner into a fun weekly scrapbooking session. I really enjoy watching those types of videos for inspo. So, this begs the question, do you guys want to see plan with me posts? Unlike most Youtubers, I do not use the Erin Condren Planners. They are beautiful and I will eventually get one. But until December 2016 I am using the Bando "I am very Busy" planner that I picked up from chapters. I though it was super adorbs and it was mint green!! What's not to love?

So, what should you expect to see in a "plan w/ me" post? The post would be either a written post or a video post, depending on my mood and my level of laziness. The duration of these posts would most likely be once a month on an "exciting" week. I would share my process for planning my week as well as show you how I decorate and make scrapbooking, oops! I mean...planning, enjoyable! I have created this poll below for you guys to let me know if you would be interested in seeing how I plan. Look forward to hearing your feedback.

Until next time...

Response: The Power of Makeup

Hello Friends,

I know my blog posts have been a bit on the wordsy side recently, But there has just been so many great topics to cover lately. Today we are discussing a controversial issue which is makeup and why woman wear it. Is it insecurity? Today I cover my thoughts on the matter. Let's begin, shall we?

A few month back, a well known Youtuber by the username nikkitutorials posted a video where she did half her face with full-blown makeup and the other half of her face she kept naked. The reasoning behind this video was to show makeup can enhance your beauty vs. cover all the things you don't like about yourself. She did this mostly to address haters who claimed she just didn't care for her own looks and resorted to makeup to cover up her face.

I think opinions come in all shapes and sizes. Some woman who aren't makeup lovers throw their opinion around like it matters what they think. I think of you can walk around without makeup and feel freaking fabulous, then good for you. Not all of us can or will do that. I have heard girls who say thinks like,
"I don't know why that girl wears so much makeup!"
Or
"I don't know why that girl has to get a fake tan"
Like, why do you care Honey? She is her own person, as are you. Why do you care what someone else is doing. If you can pull off the au naturel look, be my guest! But why do you care so much about what the other girl is doing?

Makeup, in my opinion, is art. This form of art helps to enhance the beauty you already possess.  I am a firm believer in makeup and I have an Alex 9-drawer full of makeup to prove it. For me though, I think I tend to gravitate towards makeup that will enhance what I naturally have. I am all about neutrals, colors that enhance my blue eyes, lip colors that make my lips look more pigmented. That is what I personally move towards. I love when someone has flawless natural makeup on. Makeup that takes their natural features to the next level.

My skin has suffered my whole life and acne scars are rampant. Therefore, I always use foundation and concealer. Alot of people feel like this is like wearing a mask and I have to somewhat agree. I think it is a mask but a good mask, a mask that filters the things that make me uncomfortable and insecure. I have had several people tell me that the reason I wear so much makeup and take so many selfies is because I am insecure and that I seek attention. *Game show buzzer sound* Wrong!! I wear makeup because I quite enjoy the look it gives me and I usually take a selfie because I look dang great that day and I am not ashamed to post it. I think for someone to even say that is a sign of their own insecurity and sadly, that isn't something I can fix.

Like I said, makeup is an art. If it is something you enjoy, then work on your craft and stun the world with what you can do. As someone who lives a lifestyle that most people find weird and "old-fashioned" I say that you can't lose sleep over the opinion of sheep. Don't be afraid to show the world that you love makeup, false lashes and all. But don't let makeup change who you are as a person. Always stay true to You.

So, what are your views on makeup? Do you wear makeup? Or do you go au naturel?

Sardine's Opinion: Zoos

Hello My Loves,

Today I am starting a new blog series called Sardine's Opinion. In these blog posts, I will be covering topics that may be a bit on the controversial side. That being said, I will never cover topics that have to do with serious politics, as I am neutral when it comes to all things political. If you have any topics or ideas please feel free to comment or email me using the contact me tab above.

Today, we will be discussing the topic of zoos. I have been asked by a few people who are aware that I am an animal lover, what my opinion is of zoos. Zoos seem to have a bad rap for neglecting their inhabitants and not giving them the proper provisions for their needs. Alot of people believe that these animals need not be in cages and that they should be in the wild.

I 100% agree that these animals should be in the wild. They were born with the instinct to be wild. There are two kinds of animals in this world, the kind that were meant to be domesticated and those that where made to be in the wild. I feel horrible for these animals that have to be stuffed up in a cage and just want to be set free in a field. They have all these survival instincts and they can't even use them. However, I also believe that at this day in age, with the poaching threat on the rise and the mutiny these poachers put these poor animals through, Zoos are very much needed to control any threat of extinction. I loved watching the Animal Planet when I had cable and one of my favorite shows was Battleground: Rhino Wars. If I have to be honest, I have never been a fan of Rhino's. But after watching this show and learning how in danger of extinction they are, I have a new respect for them. The things that these poachers do to these poor animals makes my stomach turn. Rhino's are just one of the THOUSANDS of animals at risk of extinction and with zoos, it is possible to preserve these species.

Now, I am not saying I support ALL zoos. I only support zoos whose main purpose is to conserve these animals not to put them on display in order to make money. My local zoo in Toronto, The Toronto Zoo, does just that. I follow them on facebook and their conservation efforts are always being displayed. Most recently, they released 9,000 of the Puerto Rican crested Toads tadpoles into a Puerto Rican conservation area. Super cool since this is a threatened species! I defiantly support a zoo that takes care of their animals and make sure that their #1 priority is to conserve these animals. When you visit this zoo in particular, you can tell it's not all about entertaining everyone who visits with unnecessary "shows" to put these poor animals on display. Their habitats are reflective of their homes in the wild. Also, their "Meet the Keeper" programs are much more about teaching and putting out awareness for these poor and critically endangered species.

So, Do I think that all these animals should be in the wild? Yes. Do I think they should all be set free? No. Do I support local zoo's? Yes, but only if the zoo is doing its part to conserve these animals. I want these animals to be happy as much as they next guy, but there are too many threats to their survival in the wild. I say support a local zoo who proves by their actions that they're acting in the best interest of their animals.

Until next time...

Disclaimer: I am in no way affiliated with The Toronto Zoo. These are just my opinions!
